PPS announces new appointment to Trust

PPS, the specialist financial services provider to graduate professionals, has announced a number of new appointments to the PPS Holdings Trust Board following its Annual General Meeting held on the 3 June 2013.

Dr Prieur du Plessis and Mr David Smollan have both been appointed as trustees. 

Dr Du Plessis qualified as a quantity surveyor and holds a doctorate in business administration. He is currently the non-executive chairman of Grindrod Asset Management (formerly Plexus Asset Management) and chairman of Plexus Holdings.  

He is professor extraordinaire, University of Stellenbosch Business School (since 2010), a member of the council of the University of Stellenbosch, chairs its audit and risk committee and is a member of its investment committee. He is also the honorary consul of Slovenia.

Mr Smollan qualified as a chartered accountant and chartered financial analyst and previously co-founded the i-Capital Group, corporate finance advisers. He is currently the chief executive officer of the Smollan Holdings (Pty) Ltd Group.

Dr David Presbury, who served as chairman from 23 June 2004 to 11 June 2012, retired as a trustee of PPS Holdings Trust, as well as from all other PPS Group entities, at the annual general meeting. Dr Presbury has served with distinction on PPS Group Boards since 1993.
