The editor

Gregory Simpson

A graduate of the University of Cape Town, Simpson, has always had a lust for the big scoop and never been shy to ruffle a few feathers along the way. Currently editor of four publications at Cape Media: Blue Chip, Mining Prospectus, Leadership in Sport (PICA award winner) and Ship Year, he has grown into a talented all-rounder capable of visioning quality magazines in varied array of interests.
With a tireless work ethic, attention to detail and premier writing pedigree, it is little wonder that South Africa’s leading business and sporting personalities are eager to be featured in his critically acclaimed publications.
A self-confessed sports nut, Simpson has raised the bar for a truly representative sports magazine, avoiding the pitfalls of many publications that have become stale, reporting on the same old boring mainstream pursuits. Under his astute guidance, Ship Year magazine, SA’s premier shipping publication is once again at the apex of the local Maritime Industry, providing insider knowledge on this intriguing sector.
Simpson cut his journalistic teeth at Rugby365.com during their heyday before heading up the rugby department at Sunday Media - who provided WAP and internet services for ITV and Virgin Mobile in the United Kingdom. Simpson was then head-hunted by Cape Media, picking up a prestigious PICA award in his first year.
